What a sensational day at the Clap and Tap Festival! Hosted by Blaq Fist Kwantu, the event brought together over 15 choirs from across Gauteng for a breathtaking celebration of rhythm, melody, and community. Held at the Patrick Ace Ntsoelengoe Stadium in Mohlakeng on August 9, 2025, this festival offered a diverse lineup of vocal power, percussion brilliance, and moving performances that resonated with audiences of all ages.

Event highlights:

The Tsarona Talent Show is back and bigger than ever! This quarterly event in Westonaria is your chance to shine, showcase your creativity, and take your talent to the next level. Whether you’re a singer, dancer, poet, comedian, instrumentalist, or digital artist — this is the stage for you.

Below you’ll find all the details you need to enter.

Important Dates

Entries Open: 21 August 2025
Entries Close: 20 November 2025
Final Event: 29 November 2025 (Westonaria Banquet Hall)

Late entries will not be accepted.

Entry Requirements

To participate, contestants must meet the following:

Age Groups:
- Junior: 10 – 15 years
- Youth: 16 – 21 years
- Open: 22 years and above
Categories: Singing, Dancing, Poetry/Spoken Word, Comedy, Instrumental, Digital Arts
Rules:
- Each act is limited to 5 minutes.
- Content must be original or performed with permission.
- No offensive or discriminatory material allowed.
- Group acts (max 5 members) are allowed, but must register as one entry.
Dress Code: Family-friendly performance attire.

Entry Fees & Payment Details

To secure your place, all contestants must pay a non-refundable entry fee:

WEYI CWP/Phaphama Graduation Ceremony

The Phaphama initiative on the 25th of October treated it’s beneficiaries to a graduation ceremony, rewarding them and thanking them for participating fully in the community program. We’re handed certificates so that they can officially be qualified Mentors and SAFA registered Coaches.

The event was also graced by the presence of Tebogo Makolwane Chairperson of the West Rand Stakeholders Forum, Gavin Anderson, from the Seriti institute who has been on board from it’s inception, Mzwakhe Mashinini who is the Secretary of SAFA Westrand Regional office, Peter Campbell, W.O Ndumiso, Palesa Pitiki and Tebogo Nong.

We as Bekkersdal Reborn Celebrate the wonderful work done by CWP, Phaphama Initiative, WeYI and Seriti Institute. We also thank the youth of Bekkersdal for having taken this wonderful initiative and completed the tasks given

The youth of Bekkersdal took to the street to celebrate the pride of Virginity in a fight against our modern day ill’s, sexually transmitted diseases and teenage pregnancy. In the Nguni cultures of South Africa (KZN) and Swaziland thousands of Maidens take reeds and march to donate them to the building of the palace. We celebrate the leaders that encourage our youth to maintain their culture

Ekstein Foundation bringing hope to the Youth of Bekkersdal

Soccer is one sport that has really captured the hearts of the township youth and it has had good results within the community of Bekkersdal creating legends who have really made a mark within South Africa. One such talent is Ekstein, The young creative midfielder is a Kaizer Chiefs youth product having honed his skills at the club’s academy. Ekstein was promoted to the first team at the start of the 2015/16 season following an impressive run of form with the reserve side in the Multi Choice Diski Challenge. His progress in the first team has been a steady one with impressive performances that have allowed him to garner support from the Amakhosi followers.

His foundation, the Ekstein Foundation aims to bring hope the the community that he grew up in. We celebrate your contribution to this Township that needs all the help that it can get, we thank you as your community

2014 Faded Black Innovation giving back

Faded Black Innovations (FBI), a local Non-Profit-Organization (NPO) turned things around and gave back to the community of Bekkersdal by renovating two child headed family homes in the area and handing out food parcels.

According to Founder and CEO of FBI Sonwabo Modimoeng, the purpose of the event was to restore peace to residents of the area following unrest that hit the town recently.

“This place has been in the public eye with violent protests actions since last year and many people have lost hope especially where service delivery is concerned but most importantly where youth impowerment is concerned.

“This cannot be correct and we just couldn’t sit back and do nothing.

We hope to see Faded Black Innovations do more for our community
